Biography

Wagner de Assis is a Brazilian director, producer, screenwriter and writer.

​

Born in Rio de Janeiro, March 18, 1971, he graduated from the cinema course at the Federal University Fluminense (UFF).

​

He began his career as a journalist at TV Globo in 1992. In 1997, he founded the production company Cinética Filmes e Produções Ltda, and his most notable work in filmmaking involves works with a spiritualist theme, such as Astral City (2010) and Kardec (2019).

​

As a writer, he has published some books from the “Aplauso Collection”: “Reginaldo Faria – O Solo de Um Inquieto”; “Ilka Soares – The Beauty of the Screen; “Agildo Ribeiro – The Captain of Laughter”; “Stênio Garcia – Força da Natureza” and “Marcos Flaksman – Universos Paralelos”, all published by the official press.

He also contributed to the soap operas “Além do Tempo” (2015) and “Espelho da Vida” (2018/19), both on TV Globo, and author of the television series “Rondon – O Grande Chef” (2015), also on TV Globo.
